They store and exhibits mainly modern and contemporary paintings from Japan and western countries, excellent artworks done by artists from Shimonoseki, such as Kano Hogai, Takashima Hokkai, and Kazuki Yasuo. Special exhibitions and storage exhibitions are held 4 to 5 times every year. Chofu garden is adjusted to the museum and visited by people as a history and culture sightseeing zone.
